Community Partnerships
Challenge
Assembly Row, a 45-acre mixed-use property in Somerville, MA, was looking to activate a vacant storefront in a high-traffic area in a creative and innovative manner that incorporated the greater Somerville community where it was located. The goal was to activate for a short period of time before a permanent tenant was signed for the space.
Solution
We partnered with Somerville Media Center, a longstanding community partner, to create a community arts and media space called Vox Pop. This space was active for 3 months with 87 events including media education classes, children's storytime, and live podcasts. The space attracted an estimated 1k people from May-August.
